How destolen works

We look for your stolen bike in second-hand listings in Spain. We show you the listings similar to your bike with a similarity percentage, you decide, and we give you a report for the police.

Bikes and e-scooters: registration, theft reports and the checker also work for e-scooters, with their DGT registration number. We do not check e-scooter listings yet. What we do for e-scooters

01

Register your bike for free

Add photos, brand, model and the frame serial number and, for e-bikes, the motor and battery numbers too. You can register up to 5 bikes and you get a certificate with its destolen No. If it is ever stolen, you have everything to hand.

We check listings several times a day

If your bike is stolen, you activate the Search (it is already included with Protection). Several times a day we go through new bike listings on publicly accessible second-hand listing portals and websites in Spain and compare them with your bike’s brand, model, serial number and photos.

03

You see the similar listings and decide

In «My theft» you see the listings similar to your bike, from most to least similar, with a percentage that compares your bike’s details and photos with the listing’s. It is not proof: you decide whether it is yours. We email you when a very similar one appears (with its serial number or a high similarity).

You take the report to the police

If you think a listing is your bike, press “It is my bike” and download a report for the police with that listing, your theft report, the serial number and the photos. We never contact the seller and we do not recommend recovering the bike yourself: let the police act.

«30 more days free» guarantee

If no listing with a high similarity (its serial number or a similarity of 85% or more) has appeared when the 30 days of a paid Search end, we extend it by 30 more days at no cost. It applies automatically, once per Search, and we email you the new end date. If you hide a listing because it is not your bike, it does not count. Websites where only a photo of your bike appears do not count either. It does not apply to the Search included with Protection and it is not a refund of the price.

What we do not do

  • We do not recover bikes: we are not the police, private investigators or an insurer.
  • We cannot guarantee that your bike will appear in a listing or that you will get it back.
  • We never contact the seller and we do not recommend recovering the bike yourself.
  • We only look at public listings on second-hand portals in Spain: if your bike is not advertised there, we will not see any similar listing.

Your data, in a nutshell

  • We do not sell personal data. We use your photos and bike details to provide the service: keeping your registration, comparing your bike with listings (the photos, with OpenAI artificial intelligence) and alerting you.
  • In Settings → Privacy you decide whether we share anything with the police, bike shops and workshops, or insurers. Everything is off by default and no option gives them your name, email, phone number or address: if someone wants to contact you, we write to you.
  • You can always download the police report yourself. We only give it to the police if you have allowed it and they ask in writing citing your theft report, or if the law or a court requires it.
  • If your bike is reported stolen, anyone who looks up its serial number will see that it is stolen, with none of your details.
  • We publish anonymous, aggregated theft statistics, never with fewer than 10 cases. The optional details of your bike are only used for statistics if you agree separately.

Report the theft to the police and activate the Search: the sooner we start checking listings, the better.
